Music mashup

A mashup or bootleg (also mesh, mash up, mash-up, blend and bastard pop/rock) is a song or composition created by blending two or more pre-recorded songs, usually by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the instrumental track of another. – Wikipedia

The video above is from the UK’s version of “The Voice”, a reality singing competition that originated from the Netherlands. Featured is the “blind audition” of contestant Max Milner, who did a mashup of Eminem’s “Lose yourself” and the Beatle’s “Come together”.

A music mashup is the first that came to mind upon learning that our next TMA would be producing a mashup. I’m sure there’s more to mashup beyond this example, and I can’t wait to start getting through the long reading list we have for Unit 2.
